How much do repairs cost?

Estimates are free, and there is no obligation.

If you are a new client or if I have not seen your instrument before, you should schedule a free consultaion/estimate. No repairs will be completed at your appointment and there will be no charge. We will discuss with you any problems that your instrument is having, what repairs I recommend, and what the cost would be. You are then free to decide whether or not you would like to schedule the repair work.

Most repairs for student model instruments are $20 per pad/cork/spring/key etc. Total repairs for an instrument are typically $20 - $350. Estimates cannot be provided by phone or email. You must make an appointment for me to see the instrument in order to find out the exact cost.

How long will it take?

You will be advised about scheduling at the time of your estimate. I am currently scheduling repairs for 2-7 days from now. When your repairs are scheduled, they usually take 1-3 days. In some cases, repairs can be completed faster or slower.

Can I have my repairs done over the weekend?

No repairs will be completed on Saturday and Sunday. If you decide to have repairs completed, I will work with you to schedule the repairs in a way that minimizes disruption to your lesson and performance schedule. Most students find that they have to go a day or two without the instrument at school and that teachers are able to forgive this and/or provide a school rental instrument.
