I offer a wide range of services for flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons, and all related instruments.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Emergencies and playing condition repairs<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Repairs that take less than one hour can frequently be completed while you wait. This can include a tenon cork, stuck swab, a single pad or key cork, a single spring, basic adjustment, minor dent, some key action problems, or other emergencies. My fee for a quick repair is usually $150.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Clean\/oil\/adjust or annual maintenance<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This includes complete disassembly, thorough cleaning, silver polish, wood oil if applicable, replacing worn out pads and corks and felts as needed, repairing problems such as tenon fit and key action, lubricating all hinges and rollers, and adjustment. Prices are usually $600-$1200 for professional model instruments. I am usually scheduling this service 2-4 months in advance, see updates on lead times on the <\/strong>home page<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong> Turnaround is usually 2-7 days.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Complete repad or overhaul<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This includes complete disassembly, thorough cleaning, silver polish, wood oil if applicable, replacing all<\/strong> of the pads and corks and felts on the instrument, repairing problems such as tenon fit and key action, lubricating all hinges and rollers, and adjustment. Any body work, soldering, springs, key work, hinge fitting, etc. that needs to be done will be completed as well. Prices are usually $1200 – $2500 for intermediate to professional model instruments. I am usually scheduling this service 2-4 months in advance, see updates on lead times on the <\/strong>home page<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong> Turnaround is usually 1-2 weeks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Free checkups<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

If I did a clean\/oil\/adjust, repad, or overhaul on your instrument less than 12 months ago and the instrument has not been involved with any accident (knocked over, etc.) then I will check and correct all of your adjustments at no cost. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note that flute pads are not covered under my warranty. Torn Straubinger or Muramatsu pads are $60 each.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Tuning<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Let me know if you have any problem notes on your instrument. Sometimes I can alter the tuning slightly using various techniques.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Air leaks<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I take a careful look at the body of the instrument, tone hole surfaces, pads, key geometry, key action, and adjustment problems to create an air tight instrument.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dent, tenon, and crack repairs<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I can fill and pin cracks and repair cracked tone holes, tenons, or post holes. I can fill and repair chips and other body damage. I can restore most dents.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Key silencing<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

If your keywork makes a lot of noise, there can be a lot of causes for this and I can address them all as part of your clean\/oil\/adjust or overhaul. This can include hinge fitting, hinge rod fabrication, cleaning and oiling of your hinges, replacing worn out key bumpers, and replacing hardened old pads. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Water problems<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Let me know if you are experiencing persistent water problems in any tone holes. Water abatement as part of a clean\/oi\/adjust or overhaul can include cleaning, oiling, elimination of air leaks, and\/or silicone or paraffin water repellent treatment. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Silver, gold, or nickel plating<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I can have your instrument, posts, and\/or keys plated as an add-on to any overhaul. If you are interested in this, let me know and we can discuss pricing and timeline. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
